Jason Henderson
ACT
Jason is a veteran of musical theatre, having been a musician, stage performer and Music Director over the last decade. He has played in pit orchestras and bands on multiple instruments in both Melbourne and Canberra.
Starting out with the clarinet, he then picked up cello, double bass, bass guitar, guitar, piano and voice. He has also both composed and recorded original music for both plays and musicals. Jason has played in countless small groups, rock bands, jazz bands, concert bands and orchestras, and is currently concentrating on playing as much jazz bass as possible.
Last year Jason debuted as a Music Director with Canberra Philharmonic Society's production of Little Shop of Horrors. Having loved the both the experience, and getting to write about himself in the third person, he was keen to give it another go, so leapt at the chance to work with Sharon on Sunset Boulevard. He had his work cut out for him in recruiting an orchestra that could pull off the musical behemoth that is Sunset Boulevard, but he is extremely pleased with how they sound and is grateful to every single player for sharing their time and talent to put on this fantastic show.
